Queensland Training Weekend – 9th / 10th September

The Queensland Impulse Association is hosting an Impulse training weekend on the 9th-10th of September, to be held at RQYS. We are delighted to announce that Glenn Bond is filling the shoes of coach for this event. Many thanks Glenn and we are all looking forward to hearing what you have to say. The cost for the weekend is $50 for the first skipper in each family and $30 for each additional skipper thereafter. More details to come shortly.

Queensland State Titles – 11 / 12 November

The Queensland State Titles are to be contested at RQYS over the 11th and 12th of November, 2006. We are hopeful that at least ten Impulses will compete in this event. Interstate competitors are very welcome, and are indeed strongly encouraged to take part. What better opportunity to gain some ‘local knowledge’ before the nationals! Get in contact with any of the Queensland committee if you are keen, and we will help arrange billeting or other accommodation.

For local skippers, don’t miss out on this one! The states will be a perfect lead up for the nationals, and an excellent opportunity to consolidate on skills gained during our training weekend with Glenn.

Notice of Race available shortly.

Bridge to Breakers Regatta – 18 / 19 November

The Big River Sailing Club (Clarence River) is hosting its annual “Bridge to Breakers” regatta over the 18th and 19th of November. Saturday features the official “Bridge to Breakers” marathon, a daylong race between Harwood Island and Yamba. Traditional short-course races are scheduled for the Sunday. The insatiable cane toads plan to back up after their state titles and venture down to the beautiful Clarence River. It is rumoured there will be a few cockroaches around too! This should be a great weekend for everyone who can make it. More information will be posted on the Big River Sailing Club website in the near future (www.bigriver.yachting.org.au).

An update will also be presented here closer to the date.
